I am intrigued by the way the seasons influence memory...in an instant, I can be transported back to March 22, 2005, for no apparent reason. Or perhaps, right now, because it was a profoundly emotional time.
There were the highs of a love so bright, only an innocent could inspire it. And a loss, so wrenching, it leaves emotional paralysis, and a chasm filled with anxiousness, and sadness, and confusion.
I honor my nephew's short life. He teaches me about strength, love, and human relationships.
Charlie's mother, my sister, is brave. Fearlessly brave.
Charlie's sister is expected to join us, here on earth, in late July. I hope she stays longer than Charlie. But if she doesn't, she'll be with him. I can rest easy with that thought.

What a perfect and poignant photo.
I can't imagine your sister's strength: facing the potential for such an awful loss a second time takes so much inner strength.
And how hard for you to be standing near, waiting to help in whatever way help is needed.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture and memory with us. I will say a little prayer that all goes well with Charlie's sister and your entire family!
The pain of losing a child is beyond my imagining. May Charlie's sister bring joy and comfort to you and your family.
Thank you for sharing, it is a beautiful picture.
What a beautiful picture.
While nothing will make the loss of Charlie easier to bear, I hope the arrival of his sister brings comfort to your sister and her family.
Thoughts and prayers for a long and happy life for Charlie's sister. Babies are a most precious gift; even if it is only given for a brief time.
Sometimes the only comfort one has is that in the midst of despair there is hope. My heart goes out to you and your family --
What a captivating photo. Thank you for sharing such elegantly expressed thoughts and memories with us.
Oh wow. I can't imagine such a loss. Such a beautiful soul being taken so soon. Your tribute is beautiful. Hugs to you. -Sarah.
Angel wings and fairy dust will always follow Charlie. Along with all the love that is encompassed in that perfect photo.
March is a tough month for me - I lost my mamaw, father-in-law and dad all within 3 weeks of each other in 2003 but I know that everyone is still with us and having a wonderful time at the right hand of God. May your family have all the peace and strength they need and then some to celebrate Charlie's short life year after year.
*hugs*

I clicked over here when you left a comment on MY blog, then saw this post. What a beautiful picture! I hope you have it enlarged, framed, and displayed in a prominent place in your home. Losing a child is the most horrendous pain, and anniversary dates can be wrenching. Hang in there!
