Payback?

One of my dogs drowned a sheep today.

I am still in disbelief.

Is it fast-acting karma for not knitting in almost eight (8) weeks? For not announcing my conclusions about and winners for RKT #1? For still having over 115 unread items in my blogroll? For not keeping in touch with friends - live, Knitty, and blogville - during this hellacious life transition? For a gajillion other things...

*sigh*

I'm so sorry to hear about the sheep. I hope there won't be terrible consequences for you and the dog. (Obviously, it was already terrible for the sheep.) As if you don't have enough going on already.

This might be a good time to make a garter stitch scarf or something like that. Just pick it up and knit whenever you have two minutes and don't have to think about finding your place in the pattern.

Oh jeez. That sounds horrible. Hope it works out OK. Are the sheep owners ok? The doggie?

Hugs.

Oh dear.

You're still getting yourself sorted after that huge move so you need to take it easy and not worry about stuff on the internet. We'll all still be here when you get more time.

I think the karma would have been if a sheep drowned your dog.

But oh my, how horrible! Poor sheep. Poor dog! Any repercussions for him?

Oh My! I had an old Golden Retriever that killed a kitten once :-(. It was totally out of instinct as the kitty came up behind her while she was eating. Normally she wasn't food aggressive and let go right away when she knew "who" it was but it was too late. Very scary because they (dogs) are animals and sometimes these things happen :-( normally out of instinct, no malice on the dogs part. Hope you and your family recover quickly from the shock!

I must admit I don't entirely understand -- maybe I don't know enough about your dogs and your life to be able to envision a scenario in which your dog drowned a sheep. In any case, it sounds very unpleasant for all involved.

I'm sorry to hear you describe your life transition as "hellacious." I hope things get better soon -- don't give a second thought to your Bloglines right now. Get everything else on the right track and then come back to it. (And I recommend at that point clearing everything out completely and starting fresh -- don't even attempt to grapple with the backlog.)
